CDN cncrt #1 Kirkstone park. By Blaise Olson

Jul 04, 2009
Kirkstone was without a doubt the biggest and best cdn cncrt event we’ve had in the last 4 years! The proof was over 60 people turning up to enter and ride, as well as tricks getting done in this park that have never been done, huge transfers, massive fly-outs to the grass field over the ridiculous height fence, as well as the young riders throwing down bigger than they should be able to. Highlights from the jam included: Under 13 years old winner, Nathan Royes, riding harder and better than guys twice his age. Full on park local, and you could tell from his flow. Anthony Messere making the jump after all these years from the young guns class, to am “good” and winning it with ease. He was boosting at pretty much pro level over the hip.

The great class was stacked, the biggest class of the day, and some huge surprises. The main one being IK Soon, as double tailwhips to tailtap in the big quarterpipe area, are kind of on that next level for a young am. He was going huge on these, more like a gigantic flyout, no wonder he won!

The ABA is proud to announce that the ABA BMX Hall of Fame has found a permanent home at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA. The Olympic Training Center has set aside nearly 1000 sq. ft. inside the OTC Visitor Center to pay homage to BMX heroes from days gone by; the National BMX Hall of Fame will be one of the main attractions for over 300,000 annual visitors. OTC Director Tracy Lamb stated, “It is a great honor to have this collection housed at the Olympic Training Center and it’s very exciting to know that most of the items in the collection have never been on public display”. Tracy went on to add, “now with an Olympic replica BMX track for the Elite riders, an ABA sanctioned amateur track and now the BMX Hall of Fame and Museum Chula Vista will become a world renown BMX destination”.

To commemorate this occasion and in conjunction with the UCI Supercross and US Open Amateur National, the San Diego Hall of Champions will host the 25th annual BMX Hall of Fame banquet

FAT Friday at 30 degrees heat! Nobody is inside, right?

Jul 03, 2009
We're only a week away from the 2009 IBMXFF World Championships in Cologne. It's time to show some national pride. Barbero will let his pants sag a little extra to show his Italian underwear and so will the Brits. The Aussies have a big posse of kangaroos coming over and the French will bring some wine and bread. The Dutch of course will turn the grandstands orange and will bring the noise with their custom made wooden clogs. People will be camping out and fun is about to be had. Results are secondary but then in the end, it's "The WORLD's". Who knows where BMX Freestyle will go in the future and claiming a "Pro World Title" always looks good on your resume when you looking for sponsors. We will probably not pull off a FAT Friday from Cologne, but a few updates from Germany you can expect. We're glad to announce that you can view it live here on FATBMX too so if you can't make it, you will be able to see the comp online .

Jul 03, 2009
The World's is a comp I'm looking forward to. And it's not just me. The Dutch crew is so ready you don't even know. Oranje Boven all the way. Limpy went over to Cologne yesterday and snapped some shots of the park course and the dirt set-up. They're not done yet but you will start to get an idea of what it will look like in the end. Looking forward to see you all there. If you're Dutch, bring the orange.
