El Cajon, California, Formula Bicycles announced today that it has reached an agreement with Elite Women’s rider and ABA World Champ Amanda Geving. “I have been friends with Amanda and her dad Bill for a while now,” stated Formula owner Will Rells, “I’m really excited to finally get to work with both of them. She definitely meets the high standards that we have set for the Formula Factory team.” After a successful amateur career that included, just in 2004, 78 national main event wins and 11 of 14 possible titles, Amanda decided to make the jump to the Pro class in ‘05.
A little background... I must admit, the idea of one on one BMX racing is hardly innovative. There have been various similar events held in the US over the past few years where pros race against each other one on one on purpose built technical and tight tracks. From the Gravity Games, to the John Purse sprint race, to double downs, to Stumpy's sprint trails. We have all seen photos or even footage of this unique style of racing. Where BSX is different however is that it's primary objective is to raise money for the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation.
The second stop of ABA Pro Series was off and running this past weekend with great success at the Gator Nationals in Oldsmar, Florida. With huge Pro rider counts, a great track and big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA handed out $18,880.00 to the top Pro Riders in Women, Vet, A and AA classes. On the track the racing was a treat for the spectators. A Pro was again dominated by one rider winning both days. The big winner both days was KYLE WEISENBERGER and believe it or not this kid is looking for a ride. Somebody better pick this guy up quick!
Oldsmar, Florida – Factory Formula’s AA Pro “dR” Donny Robinson hit up the second stop on the ABA’s 2006 pro tour, the Gator Nationals in Oldsmar, Florida, looking to capitalize on the consistency that earned him the ABA’s National #3 AA Pro and Pro Cruiser spots in 2005. Donny’s Formula Solution Pro and Solution Pro Cruiser were totally dialed-in after his Formula debut two weeks ago at the ABA’s Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, Nevada and he was ready for battle in sunny Florida.
Robinson had a bit of a scare in Saturday morning practice.
AA Pro Augusto Castro is up and training for the 2006 season. In 2005 he went down in a race and broke his shoulder. He recovered fully and came back and won the Bolivarian Games. He is expected to race all of the major Nationals in the U.S.A. Augusto is an ambassador for BMX and has his site focused on 2008 Olympics.

San Diego, CA –BMX World has announced Avent Cycles A Pro Darrell Dawes as their official Pro Test Rider. Darrell will be bringing a balanced Pro perspective to all the new products in the industry, at a level you want to compete in.
"We wanted a pro that would give us an honest opinion when doing our bike test. Darrell Dawes is not only a good rider on the BMX track, but can tear it up on the trails as well, so it was a no-brainer for us. Plus, the guy has style for days, he makes it look effortless. We feel his riding will translate great onto the pages of BMX World Magazine. So if you haven't heard of Darrell Dawes, get ready to, the guy can ride." – Greg Leasure.
Darrell is currently sitting 24th in the ABA Pro Circuit.
Intense World Team Member, Michael Robinson competed at Centenary Plains BMX Club in Australia for Round 3 of the UCI World Ranking Series on January 8th in Brisbane. Michael has only competed in one other round, so he is playing catch up in the points. Due to a huge thunderstorm the night before the race, the track was extremely soft and soggy, making the race that much harder on the Elite riders.
All of the top elite riders from the Australian and New Zealand were in attendance, other that Warwick Stevenson, whom is still recovering from Knee Surgery, so the competition was very strong. Following a disappointing 8th place finish at the UCI final the weekend before at Round 2 in Nerang for Michael, he was ready for a good main event result. As the main loaded up, it was easily one of the hardest main events in the history of the Australia series, with the best 8 riders in the country all in the main.

The new ABA Pro Series kicked off this past weekend with great success at the Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, Nevada. With huge Pro rider counts, a great track and big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA handed out $26,500.00 to the top Pro Riders in Women, Vet, A and AA classes.
On the track the racing was a treat for the spectators. Other than Mike Brabant’s domination of A Pro, the other Pro classes featured different winners each day. Women Pro was won by Arielle Martin on Saturday, while Kim Hayashi took the win on Sunday. Darrin Mitchell took the Saturday Vet Pro win, with Todd Parry on the top spot for Sunday. AA Pro was dominated by Bubba Harris on Saturday, however bad luck in the Semi on Sunday left Bubba looking from the grandstands while Kyle Bennett stole the show with the big win with Nate Berkheimer coming in a strong second.
