It was off to the Red Bull Trick Or Treat contest in Brooklyn. Time to check the venue. We crossed the bridge from Manhattan to Brookllyn and searched for the place in the navigation system. With a couple of smartphones and a semi address the adderss of the Newtown Barge Park was found and we made it there early. It felt weird going to the one-day contest in the afternoon. It meant little practice for everyone on a new set up and the contest would be over at night. Bruno unpacked his bike and put it together in a few minutes. 
Usually the first night after you arrive in the USA is kind of short because of the time change so we had no problem with the plans to meet up for breakfast at 08:30 in the morning the next day. After waking up a few times during the night being afraid that that was it, we all fell asleep to be woken up by the alarm clock. Damn, all of a sudden it felt early. Mini had already finished breakfast downstairs of the Holiday Inn. Damage: $ 25,= USD. We decided to head towards downtown and eat some breakfast overthere instead. 
After the meeting up with Andy Zeiss at 5 o'clock in the morning and a full flight to NYC, there was no time to rest for Bruno Hoffmann when he got to New Amsterdam. Getting through customs was a breeze this time for the Red Bull rider, but he's prepared to answser the standard questions at immigration. "I'm here to check out the city" are the lines of the 17 year old who wears as little sponsored clothing as possible when entering the country. Any suspicion should be avoided, especially when entering the USA. 
It's rough flying to the other side of the world just to enter a contest. When the city is New York City, it helps make the decision to get on that plane. Bruno Hoffmann arranged a few extra days off work to make it to the Red Bull Trick Or Treat comp in New York city and dealt with the 8 hour direct flight from Frankfurt, customs, and the hotel life, just for the weekend. It sounds crazy and it actually is, especially for a 17 years old rider who had promised his teacher to send him a card from the big apple. Heck! it's Friday. Some people are waiting for this. Well, just got a new one in from Kindje that for sure does the job. Got a message from Daniel Wedemeijer that he can't watch FATBMX.com over at McDonald's in France. Maybe it's blocked because of the pin ups. Not sure. Maybe it's worth it. Check it. 18+ fans, come in!
