We'd visited the park in Middelburg before but while we were in the neighborhood we stopped by again. It was rather crowded on the October day because of the school holidays but there was no stress at all getting a run in. Skateboards, scooters and bikes got along fine and with a park like this there are several areas where people can do their thing. It's got a lot of rails, ledges, flat banks and a little tranny left and right. Not really a park that flows like crazy but if you're into street riding you do not need to explore the city for that

For the time being Eindhoven has an indoor place to ride. We've got to thank Klaas and Pim van den Bos for that. So even when it gets cold and starts raining in the next few weeks, you've got an indoor location in Eindhoven city to work on your skills. An opening jam is coming up. We fired over some questions to Pim and here's what he had to say.

You and your dad have been lobbying for years to get an indoor place in Eindhoven. It looks like you have a place this winter. Is it a perfect situation?
Pim: Actually it’s far from perfect but we didn’t have any indoor location in this area so it’s a good start. The park is located in an old Philips machine factory exploited by a foundation called ‘Straatcultuur en –sport’ (streetculture and –sports)and they called it ‘The Building’. My dad and I had started a foundation called ‘BMX Freestyle’ to fight for an indoor place in the area of Eindhoven (areacode: 040). Since our foundation was the only party working together with ‘Straatcultuur

Some might have the impression that I'm still in Las Vegas, but I'm not. Still I have some pics I'd like to share with you, like the shots of TJ Lavin's backyard. The yard has seen some work lately and also the warehouse for his toys is almost done. The jumps are rock hard but well shaped. There's even a resi to try tricks on. Two locals were riding when Jose, Webby, Shaw and I showed up the other day. Slayer showed up just when we were leaving for a BBQ at Cam White's place. 

Tons of parks in Las Vegas. This one is the YMCA park. My friend and driver Jose Donoso took me there. He even brought a spare bike for me to roll around on. BMX riders outnumbered skateboarders, Micro scooter kids and inliners altogether which was a good sign. Numerous lines are possible here and some of the locals showed the way. I'm pretty sure that officially it's not called the Penis Bowl but that's how people call it over in Las Vegas. Actually it's just 80 meters away from Pro Park and hella fun to ride. Shallow part on one side, steeper U section on the other side. Just fun, you know. Located in the North-East part of LV. Open all the time. BMX friendly. Lights at night. 

This is Jose's local park. Jose lives around the corner and pedals to this place. He only riders there at night because it is too hot during the day. At night the little kids are gone too so that makes it even better. The park set up is square with some obstacles in the middle. It's not too fancy or challenging but Jose loves it.

The largest Skate Park in Las Vegas Valley opened its doors on April 27. The Hollywood Skate/BMX Park at Clark County's Hollywood Recreation Center, 1650 S. Hollywood, between East Charleston Boulevard and East Sahara Avenue, is gated and costs $5 bucks for a supervised session. Opening times: Sunday-Thursday 1-9 pm. Friday 1-10:30 pm Saturday 9-10:pm. Monthly passes available for $50.00 or Season Pass (3 months) for $120.00. Fullpipe, bowls and lots of rails/ledges ("real street"). Worth a visit for sure.

TJ Lavin's backyard is not for pussies. With Interbike taking place in Las Vegas, this place might see a session or two. Jose took us there last year. TIme to refresh: After a few calls to TJ we made it into his backyard to be impressed by the place. Before you can even hit the first jump you will need to conquer that roll-in gap first which looks hella scary. After that the jumps are steep and big. Pros only? Maybe, but TJ has been on the pro dirtjump circuit longer than pretty much anyone.Enjoy the pics.
