As many of you may already know, Tara Llanes crashed racing at the Jeep King of the Mountain finale in Beaver Creek (Vail area), Colorado. Tara was airlifted to Denver Health Hospital where she underwent 7 hours of surgery to correct massive trauma in her lower back. In addition, Tara also has a C-7 fracture, but was deemed stable prior going into surgery. Tara once again made it through another surgery and is now breathing on her own and able to communicate with friends and family. Unfortunately at this time she has no feeling below her waist, a symptom she suffered as a result of her crash. 
The 2007 Nokia Fise was a good one. The organization has confirmed the 2008 date already and reserved a spot at the "Berges du Lez". The location made it so much better, now let's work on the partying, the only thing that sucked. No more over priced Australian gay bar for us. Look at the plans for the 2008 street course. It's looking good. The Braun Spine ramp will be there (can't be missed) and also the Red Bull vert ramp will be set up on the water. Riders, reserve this date for 2008: 
If you weren't at the jam you missed out! This was seriously one of the best jams to date. Especially when you consider the registered turnout of 46 riders when hardly any of these riders even ride dirt. There was also the full mix of entertainment, from riding, semi-naked girls, a naked guy, good music and fire, to the inflammable, car and wrist wrecking paramedic Moo-Poo. The whole idea behind the jams is in creating fun events for kids. That's why we only had a beginner and am class.
The Las Vegas Interbike trade show is coming up shortly and we'll have a hard time taking pics of everything while we're there for various reasons. That's why we're giving you another photo report of new stuff that we found at the Eurobike trade show last week in Germany. wethepeople had some really nice bikes but also the CW California Freestyle that we saw at the Allride booth was great (for oldschool sake). Also Kuwahara has not forgot about their roots and showed new race frames compared to an early race frame. Check the pics. Benny Kopp and his crew are organizing the Bielefeld City Jam part 3 on the weekend of 15 and 16 September next. The comp will be held at the Bielefeld skatepark Kesselbrink. It will be a vert and park contest with park prelims and vert finals on Saturday. Sunday 16 September will have the Park finals and Best trick contest.
Pro class will have prize money and the amateur riders will battle for goodies provided by Carhartt, Eastpak, Unity, G&S, etnies, and Gleis 3.
DJ Hype and Madwax will start off the weekend on Friday with the official contest party which will be held at the Ostbahnhof in Bielefeld. If you don't want this contest season to be over, head on over to Germany for one more event.
The 66th issue of Props video magazine has an international feel to it. Leo Forte (UK) gets the cover and is featured in the United Bike Co Southern road trip with Ian Morris, Ricky Feather, Caleb Kilby and the rest of the United crew. Aussies Ryan Guettler and Nick Cooper rip it up at the Brawlin' at the Belmar in Binghampton, an event that brought back fun into BMX. Props enters European soil when they made it to Devon for the Red Bull Empire of rain. Still they show an indoor session at the barn and the Decoy trails. Props made it over to the BMX Masters in Cologne for more international footage but issue 66 didn't forget the USA completely with a scene report on the Flow skatepark in Ohio and a JJ Palmere Bio. 
Past weekend there was a artshow at SLB in Los Angeles (Pro skater Sal Barbier's shop) and it was fairly interesting to see what the possibilities are decorating a Skyway Tuff Wheel II. I personally like the wheel the way it is, but nevertheless that didn't stop anyone from doing their "art" version on the legendary Tuff Wheel. Realize it is about 100 F (37 C)in the shade, while this was the last holiday weekend in the US (Labor day). The vibes were good, sun was out and the DJ was cranking it up a notch. Oh and you can't go wrong with free beer either... All and all I thought it was a cool concept, but I wish the presentation was done slightly different, since standing around a "Tuff Wheel Xmas tree" with a bunch of people, almost felt like you were spooning each other at one point. The international bike trade show IFMA Cologne will open its doors on September 15 and 16 for the public. Outside of the trade fair building the BULLS Spine Jam will take place for the second time – held on the worldwide’s largest mobile miniramp, the Braun spine ramp. Don’t miss the chance to view rides rocking this massive ramp before the winter break – this ist he last possibility! UKs top riders such as Ben Wallace, Chris Mahoney and Phil Aller have already confirmed their participation – this is already the guarantee that this contest will rock! 
We told you there was a lot of BMX at this year's Eurobike show. We have two more sets of new products to drool over or to ridicule. It's good to see that there are colours available other than black but we have our doubts by some colour combinations that manufacturers are putting on the market. At least it makes this world a bit more colourful.
