January 2006 marked the day that Philip started pedaling his Z12. Okay, it's got training wheels on but give the guy a break, he just turned two. In the October editorial I did not know exactly what Philip wanted to do later on in life when he grows up, but after seeing him have so much fun on his HARO, things are looking up. It's winter now so it's tough to go outside and ride, so the living room has become the training ground for little Philip.
Man, we've been covering the Down Under riding scene lately with interviews on Colin MacKay, Dave Dillewaard and Ryan Guettler, a review on 2020 BMX magazine and here's the DVD that actually came with said magazine. Hindsight two starts off with a Dyno commercial with classic footage of Dave Voelker and not so classic 2005 footage. I though Dyno had moved on to making beach cruisers or something but the Australians have kept the brand alive. The DVD opens with the Vans Let it Ride competition that was held at the HardRock & Casino parking lot of Las Vegas.
"Strange things happen at FDR." That´s what Brett Downs wrote us. When we opened the attached photos of the girls, we could only agree with him. The Pin-Up section might cost us a sponsor or two, but the number of hits the section gets shows that it's hard for everyone to hold back. Don't click on it. Just don't, if you don't want to see this month's pin-up.
The second stop of ABA Pro Series was off and running this past weekend with great success at the Gator Nationals in Oldsmar, Florida. With huge Pro rider counts, a great track and big money on the line, the racing was nothing short of spectacular. By the end of the weekend the ABA handed out $18,880.00 to the top Pro Riders in Women, Vet, A and AA classes. On the track the racing was a treat for the spectators. A Pro was again dominated by one rider winning both days. The big winner both days was KYLE WEISENBERGER and believe it or not this kid is looking for a ride. Somebody better pick this guy up quick!
-You changing sponsors from S&M to HARO came as a surprise for some. How did it materialize? Rob: Pretty much just got a call one day from Tony D asking me if I had anything going on for next year. He called me back a few days later telling me what he could do and it sounded good. I've always stayed with Haro guys at all the comps, couch surfing. We're all really good friends and live in the same town. I just thought how good it will be to travel the world with your best friends. Now I have a chance to do that, so I went for it. Don't get me wrong, S&M was great!! But Sometimes change is good.
-You've been around for quite a few years now, what have been your biggest results?
When I put the Shadow Conspiracy DVD in the player I was expecting some weird stuff. For some reason the "different" ad campaign and commercials around the Shadow brand made me think that way. I'm glad to tell you that my expectations were wrong. Sure, the team rider intros had this Shadow vibe to them with red lighting and CSI like editing but soon after it was straight to the BMX bike for lots of street riding and also lots of dirt.

Oldsmar, Florida – Factory Formula’s AA Pro “dR” Donny Robinson hit up the second stop on the ABA’s 2006 pro tour, the Gator Nationals in Oldsmar, Florida, looking to capitalize on the consistency that earned him the ABA’s National #3 AA Pro and Pro Cruiser spots in 2005. Donny’s Formula Solution Pro and Solution Pro Cruiser were totally dialed-in after his Formula debut two weeks ago at the ABA’s Silver Dollar Nationals in Reno, Nevada and he was ready for battle in sunny Florida.
Robinson had a bit of a scare in Saturday morning practice.
