The top pros in BMX head to the beach August 5 - 8 for the second annual Nike 6.0 HB BMX Pro. In two quick years, the coastal gathering has emerged as the premiere BMX event of the summer, as well as the pros' favorite contest. With a prize purse totaling $100,000, an incredible park course and the picturesque setting of the Pacific Ocean with the US Open of Surfing as the backdrop, this year's contest is guaranteed to be another memorable one. The lineup of competing riders for this year's contest is literally a who's-who of elite BMXers. From established pros like Garrett Reynolds, Dennis Enarson and Mike Spinner, to veterans like Ryan Guettler, Daniel Dhers and Ryan Nyquist, to phenoms like 15-year-old Brett Banasiewcz, nearly every top pro in the game will be putting in work in Huntington Beach.

"Just being on the beach in Huntington is so nice,"
said Nike 6.0 pro Mike Spinner. "Every aspect of the contest-from the ramps to the format, to the atmosphere-was 100%. The contest

Action sports event producer, ASA Entertainment (ASA), and MegaRamp Events, creators of the world- renowned 90’ high ramp used in the Big Air competitions at the X Games, announced today that they have entered a multi-year partnership to produce the MegaRamp ASA Triples tour (Triples). The ASA Big-Air BMX Triples, which was introduced in 2007 as part of the ASA Action Sports World Tour, was developed into a stand-alone tour in 2010. As a result of this partnership, the Triples events moving forward will be rebranded as “MegaRamp ASA Triples”.

The MegaRamp ASA Triples showcases the industry’s top BMX and skateboarding pros competing in a series of unique head-to-head battles while taking on the challenge of the 195-foot long course, consisting of a 25-foot high roll-in ramp, two 25-foot wide jumps and a course-ending 14-foot high quarter-pipe. The competition’s head-to- head format stretches the athletic limits of these competitors and showcases the pros’ innovation and versatility with a bevy of awe- inspiring tricks.

Everyone should have landed by now but some bikes and parts are still floating around the world. Its awesome that you look around the pits and see people from Japan, Canada and the UK all here in South Africa to race some BMX. Weather looks good, track looks real good as the final work is being done to it. Nobody was allowed anywhere near it which was frustrating for several riders who made a trip to the track to have a look. It does not make sense to have people walking all over the track right now but I think they should have at least been allowed to the fence to have a look and film the straights. Special thanks to Simon Keijzer for allowing me up onto the start hill to shoot some photos for Fatbmx. The track builders do an awesome job for sure and the jumps look so perfect right now you almost don't want anyone to ride over them. Registration is now out the way for most people and practice starts tomorrow.

The event program has a photo of mine and the flyer that came with the riders plates has two more. Several people got photo credits

Through the years I've known Jon, I've always been impressed by his modest personality, and smooth approach to riding. Whilst he may not have an epic list of tricks, anything he does do is done with finesse - Furthermore, it's easy to see that Jon enjoys riding his bike now, just as much as he did a decade ago.... What makes Jon increasingly relevant, is his list of talents outside of BMX - For one; Jon's a reputable graphic designer, who's had

Expect non-stop action as Monster Energy athletes hit events across Moto, BMX, Skate and Rally at X Games 16, beginning this Thursday, July 29 through Sunday, August 1. It¹s all going down center stage in the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and in and around STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA. In BMX Vert the number one threat will be Monster¹s Jamie Bestwick, who¹s often called the best BMX Vert rider ever and is a five-time X Games Vert gold medalist.

In BMX Park two time X Games gold medalist and four-time medalist Scotty Cranmer will be back for more hardware, but he¹ll have to contend with the legendary Dave Mirra, a medal-collector who¹s been practicing hard lately and contest-mainstay Ryan Guettler. Andy Buckworth, a young buck from Australia with loads of flip variations like the double front, will battle in BMX Big Air.

Mirra and Ken Block are playing double duty behind the wheel as they both compete in Rally Racing and the all-new Super Rally,

There are three significant bicycle trade shows per year. The Taipei show, Eurobike and Internbike. But there are plenty more bicycle gatherings around. One of them is the Bike Expo in Munich, Germany. Interesting for BMX? Not really. We did our best to find to BMX related products in the three halls. The trade show has gained in size since last year but is far from the size and importance of the upcoming trade show in Friedrichshafen. We'll get you pics from that show in 6 weeks. But first a few photos from the indoor section
