Terry Adams recently did a Redbull Wal-Mart tour. He gave us a quick rundown: "We basically hit 4 walmarts in 2 days doing a demo at each stop. At each location I held a twitter contest and the winner was award my signature complete "flatware waltz" bike at the end of each demo. It was so rad to bring a flatland show to a unique place like Wal-Mart & actually give back to BMX in a big way by giving away a legit complete bike at each stop. We have pretty much landed is paradise, that is if your favourite day would look something like this: Wake up without an alarm clock. Check the computer on all the latest happenings in BMX. Get your helmet and ride the early session of the day at a park that many different things to ride starting off with the pump track to warm up. When it gets too hot, get some food and walk to the private beach which is just 300 meters away. Go snorkelling and feel like the man of Atlantis for as long as you want. Chill at the beach and dry up. Then it’s back to the amazing park to ride with some friends for the evening session. Take some pics, get some dinner and go get some sleep.

Eurocamp is all about this routine in the most chill vibe ever. No need to show off, it’s just you doing what you want to do. On day two some more riders showed up from Barcelona and a sweet dirt session followed towards the end of the night. Perico got on the bike as well and so did Axel Jurgens. Oh yeah, did I mention it was sunny all day again? 

On Thursday morning before the World’s Wouter and Riccardo stopped by Camp Holland and told me they were going to  their favourite concrete pool just outside of Cologne. With nothing much on the program for that day I asked if I could join. No problem, so Paul and I brushed our teeth and threw some water in the face and stepped into the BAM ride, Wouter’s customized camper van. What seemed like a longer ride than expected the TomTom got us to the bowl. It’s actually across the street from Big Boy Sports (the kitesurf part) so if you want directions, google that shop and get the address.

We padded up and checked out the bowl. It was tight. Very tight, and on the steep side. But it had pretty much everything, from a taco, to extension, a tit, hip and different height levels. Seeing pool sharks ride this would have been good, but we had fun as well. Even Paul got on the bike again in the pool. If you’re a fan of concrete bowls, it’s worth a visit but expect this thing to be tight. Open daily, for free, bikes allowed.

Today we arrived at Eurocamp and received a warm welcome of the Camping Pola- and Eurocamp crews. In the little time that the camp has been alive Axel Jurgens and his posse have built up an amazing place. The location couldn’t be much better, just outside of Girona, Spain in Tossa de Mar. The campsite where the ramps are located has its own private beach, just 300 meters from the dirt jumps, pump track, 

A few months ago we had the last Flame Trails jam in Brandevoort. The spot was going to be plowed because we needed to relocate. Then all of a sudden the skatepark and new dirt spot plans got wiped off the table completely. Everyone who has ever had to deal with the local council knows how frustrating this can be. We got offered a new spot which wasn't all that great. What we wanted is stay close to the sports accomodation and on Sunday I heard some news that this is actually going to happen.

During all these weeks the Flame Trails have been around for sessions. Now that the holidays have started, riding is going on on a daily basis. And tonight as well. We've got some water left to wet the jumps so they'll be in good shape at 19:00hr. We don't know for how much longer the jumps will be there so come over, it's a good laugh for an hour or two.

Earlier in the week when it was raining lots, we called around and decided to have a session at the 040BMXpark in Eindhoven on Sunday. Of course Sunday was the only sunny day of the week and we decided to go ride indoors. But there's little to complain about having a session with your friends at the 040BMX park in Eindhoven. The ramps are killer, the tunes are playing, the pool table is there for the in between sessions and the new bowl is good fun. The level gets pushed in a friendly way over at 040BMX.

We're at a time that some riding spots are becoming historical. And for that reason alone, they should stay around. One of those spots is the Mullaly park in the Bronx in New York. It has probably never reached the quality of a Woodward park or sweet concrete mecca, but it's got history and stories to tell. Places like that need to stay around and animal and Base Brooklyn are putting some effort together to have a sweet day on June 23rd. Here's the info, straight from Base Brooklyn's Enos Colombo:

Hey everyone here is a flyer for a Jam we're doing at Mullaly June 23rd. It's about bringing everyone together at NYs first public park. Over the last couple of years the city of NY has forgotten about the park, it's sad that the park has gotten so run down, but there is a lot of history at Mullaly and there are some good riders up there too.

Doing reports during the trip wasn't all that easy. That's why I've been reporting from home, not Cali. The last two days there were spent cruising around with not too many things on the schedule. I drove up from Carlsbad to Fullerton on Tuesday to go see the people at Box Components. They'd noticed through Instagram (@fatbmx) that I was in SoCal and asked to stop by. It was Sunday and we weren't in a rush to get up at Choq's pad. Andy Zeiss packed up his bike, Harley Davidson rim, shock, Pro-Tec helmets and whatever else he gathered during the trip and put it in two bags. The DK Golf bag and an old duffel bag. It all fit nicely. Choq had heard about this Koninginnedag party in Orange (or was it Torrance?) which doesn't make any sense to anyone who isn't Dutch. After we'd dropped off the German at LAX we made it over there and met more Dutch people in one place than I've ever seen together in one place in the States. It was like being home,

A brand new day and we had already made plans for it: the new Vans Bowl at Katella Ave and Sheep Hills over in Costa Mesa. It's amazing to see that Choq has a key of the Vans building and can go there any time he wants. It comes in handy now that the bowl has been finished. Some fellow BMX-ers were in da hizzle including Marek de Heus who was on holiday with his family for 4 weeks. Not much happened on pro level but fun was had regardless by all present. When you’re on the road it’s not always easy to get things done. Not being behind a computer all the time sure hurts the communication. But spending all day behind a computer wasn’t one of our plans. Off to Oakley it was. On arrival we saw the international distributors being treated with a BBQ outside the building, in the sunshine so plenty of Oakley testing was going on at the same time. We entered the lobby and asked for Mr. Hargraves who came down to check us in.
