FAT Friday : The FAT Friday is here! BMX news and stuff....

If you only hit one post this week, make it this one. It tells you a little about what happened in the BMX world and as usual it was quite a bit. Halloween jams, new reality shows, the remaining 2009 BMX events, links to the FAT Favourite lists, the results of the comps, race results, a photo of Frankse at work, BMX insurance, Mirra's comp, and most importantly the MX season has started. Go check, check check.

-Jon Peacy has a new t.v. reality series coming together with a pro skater. The shows working title is " The good times roll wtih Melch and Peacy". It's an onslaught of major citys country wide charging with a van of bikers, a van of skaters and the deranged, habitual obsession to kill spots. It's going to be a 12 episode series with new riders for each metropolis totaling 60 riders in all...... so sick....

-The FATBMX event schedule is being used by riders, contest organizers and sponsors worldwide. To make sure that events don't clash with others, send in your event date(s) today. Instead of working around an event, you can claim the date for yours and have others work around your event. The event schedule is here for jams and contests alike so even if you're organizing a street jam and you want people to show up, submit the info and post it in the FATBMX event Schedule. -Maybe you don't like motocross and if you hate it as much as I hate fixies, you should skip this news bit. But for those BMX riders who are into it and ride a bit for themselves (there are loads of them), we can tell you that the first race of the Chopped Corn Field races took place last Sunday in Handel. Sander Bisseling made a clip of the goons that you can watch by going here. 1990 MCS BMX team member Boyd Karsmakers won the MX2 hobby class and everyone else struggled somewhere behind him. Next race this Sunday in Boekel. It has been raining like crazy all week so it will be a mud fest. Report of race one: HERE.

-Our buddy (pictured here) has been in chilling in the sun for the last few months. A few more months to go and he'll be back in Ale Blie. Some BMX-ers experienced life "over there" and did a few demos for the troops. It's the real deal. Check the clip HERE.

-Those who were expecting BMX Freestyle to be part of the 2012 Olympic games can give up hope. It ain't happening.

-It was Halloween last weekend. Looks like it was celebrated all over the world with BMX jams in England, South Africa, the USA and The Netherlands going on at the same time. Scroll through all the movies and find them. Good costumes too.

-Pieter Possenier has started providing insurances through his Crank BMX network. You can sign up too. They're actually having a jam this Sunday 8 November at the bowl in Kortrijk, Belgium. € 22,50 gets you insured for a year. Ask Pieter for more details.
