It took a while to get back to normal and in fact, I'm still tired but it was all worth it. The World's in Cologne were a good time. Camp Holland was in effect and meeting up with everyone was just great. Making it from one side to the other side of the contest area wasn't a quick walk through the park. It took half an hour at least. The riding was off the hook as well. Jamie Bestwick on vert. It doesn't get any better than that. The first jump on dirt was 9 meters long but that didn't hold Anthony Napolitan back doing no-handed fronties on it and flip double whips on the last set. The level keeps on getting higher. On Mini the big surprise was this 14 year DK kid called Maddog. So good. He sees a trick, puts his brains to work, and then pulls it. Flair barspin for instance, pulled in his final run. Ondra Slez did one before him. Dhers won though. A bit of drama went on in Pro flat apparently but with a bit of a D-tour Raphael Chiquet took the pro title. Pro Park never happened which was a shame because over 100 pros had lined up for it. Highlight of the event for me personally was the 1986 flashback HARO Demo with the original crew. So good.

Despite the rain, the weekend was great and actually had a "world's vibe" to it. Four nights of heavy partying was part of it, of course, because it was the world's. But we've got more BMX news this week. Just read FAT Friday # 29.

-Corey Martinez, Nathan Williams and Geoff Slattery will be at our store in Hastings on Friday the 17th of July to flip some burgers on our Barbeque to raise some money for the new Hastings skatepark fund! We are pretty damn excited to have these United pro riders coming here to cook up some food and destroy the Skatepark! The whole thing will kick off at 4pm and there will be plenty of autographed posters, stickers and free stuff being given out. So come along and suport the new local park!

-AL D announced the latest news on the next bmxinvasion "bike to school" #9 competition to take place at the DOME PARK located in WILKES BARRE Pa. ON AUGUST 22ND 2009 - The dome is a fantastic park with great lines to flow with a few huge ramps included in the park for the pro riders to shred. Al D: "I just spoke recently to the owner and he agrees to host the domes first ever bmx contest. I'm hoping I can get some support from your company in order to have this event. Most of you know how I operate making these bmxinvasion contests affordable to the riders in order for them to enter the competition. -FBM, in Conjunction With Best Friends Day the ocho, with support From Re Cycles and Cafe Ole' ,will be holding a Best Trick Box Jump Invitational on Sunday August 23 in Richmond Virginia, during the 4 day Music festival. This featured Event will Be from 3-4 pm, over a world record setting plate of Delicious Nachos, and will be Hosted By None Other Than Gwar Front man, Oderus Urungus. This event will be held at the Bike Lot, as well as a Mini Ramp Jam Hosted By Re Cycles. This will be an all you can eat Professional BMX extravaganza. More details to follow.
