FATBMX REVIEW OF THE 040BMXOPEN. JUNE 2012.Last Saturday the 040 BMX Open took place in 040 BMX Park in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. This was the first contest on the ramps that were part of the Rebeljam course in December 2011. Vans, Paul’s Boutique and Pro-tec joined in to make sure the riders could win some good prizes. Riders could compete either in Amateur class or Pro class and go for the goodies from Vans/Pro-tec and the cheques from Paul’s Boutique. This way the Amateur top 5 could exchange the cheque for the parts they want. Cheques were given out worth € 20,- up to € 100,-. Top 5 in pro received cash money with € 500,- for first place, € 250,- for second, € 125,- for third, € 75,- for fourth and € 50,- for fifth place. At the end of the day all riders could compete in the 20 minute jam session for Best Trick.
In amateur class we had 19 riders competing who came over from The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It really showed that a lot of riders made a lot of progression lately and some
proved they are ready to step it up next time to pro class. We had 3 Germans at the top with Paul Thölen in first. This young man showed he has tons of style, flow and tricks and was followed by Timo Schulze who threw out some banger tricks including some flipwhip attempts which came really close. In pro class we had some good riders hungry for that cash money. Some riders could put together a solid run and some unfortunately not. Daniel Wedemeijer showed every time he hit the course he could flow around the park with transfers no one else did and pulling a trick on every obstacle he touched. First place well deserved!

During the 20 minute jam session for Best Trick Janek Wentsky pulled a sick footplant toothbonk on the wall, Desmond Tessemaker pulled a superman nothing to no footed can can on the step up but Daniel Wedemeijer showed that he can pull some big bangers aswell as putting a good solid run together. After doing a whip to turndown air on the big quarted he pulled a 720 whip on the step-up which got him the € 100,- for Best Trick. Not even 10 seconds after the 20 minute jam session he also pulled a whip to footjam from the quarter below transferring on top of the wall after the step-up.
