Last year Fix It Sticks successfully launched its first radically designed, all-new bicycle tool on Kickstarter. For 2014, Fix It Sticks is returning to Kickstarter to fund its launch of two new products, the "Fix It Sticks Replaceable Edition" and the all-new "T-Way Wrench." The campaign launched today and is slated for a 30-day run. Backers of the tools
will have first access to the new Fix It Sticks products followed by a phased roll out to retailers, domestic distributors and international distributors respectively.
"Our initial 2013 Kickstarter campaign was a huge success and helped establish us as an innovative, yet relatively small tool company," said Fix It Sticks Founder Brian Davis. "But, to keep growing and innovating we need an influx of cash, so we are going back to Kickstarter. The tools we are introducing now are truly unique and provide cyclists the ability to have shop quality tools with them on the road or at home".
Davis' 2013 Kickstarter campaign goal was to raise $18,000 in order to launch the Fix It Sticks brand but by the time the 30-day campaign ended he had raised more than $45,000. Since Davis was able to cover a significant amount of his initial set up costs with the first campaign, his fundraising goal this time around is $14,000.
The Fix It Sticks Replaceable Edition offers the same functionality, durability and packability as the original Fix It Sticks, and allows users to swap or replace individual bits depending on their specific needs.
The second product, the Fix It Sticks T-Way Wrench,is a fixed T-wrench with replaceable bits on each of the three ends. The two short sides offer improved leverage over the traditional 3-way wrenches found on most workbenches and the longer end provides greater range for those hard to reach places.
Both of the new Fix It Sticks product offerings are constructed of 4140 CroMoly steel, precision machined and utilize rare earth magnets to retain the bits. Both are corrosion resistant and will be offered in a high-luster nickel finish and eight different powder-coated colors. All Fix It Sticks products are manufactured and assembled in the USA.
"Each of these tools essentially combines a 3-way wrench, T-wrench, multi-tool and screwdriver all in one small, tough, portable package," continued Davis. "Our new tools easily replace a few hundred dollars worth of shop tools and will free up shop storage space. Besides the bits we provide, the design accepts driver bits found at any hardware store. Virtually any bit can be used; sockets, Torx, hex, and Pozidriv."
Shipping with a recycled inner tube case and eight bits, the Fix It Sticks Replaceable Edition will have an MSRP of $36, but during the campaign the reward level is $30. The T-Way Wrenchships with seven different tool bits and an aluminum spinner with an MSRP of $30, but during the campaign the reward level is $25.
