2018: Papendal - UCI BMX SX World Cup Round 3 Elite Women Final
2018: Papendal - RD1 Elite Women Final.
In a post Olympic year the interest in the UCI BMX SX World Cup was expected to be less than usual. With record numbers of participants in Papendal as well as Zolder, reality showed otherwise. The back to back racing between The Netherlands and Belgium also proved to be a success as riders from overseas could hit up 4 races in two weeks time. Laura Smulders (NED), like many of the other girls, had raced the Papendal and Zolder tracks several times before but didn't have to deal with a jet lag at the beginning of the season. Argentina is a rough one for everyone (travel-wise) but the TVE-Oegema rider held on to her red plate to the end. With two wins in Argentina Mariana Pajon (COL) did what she needed to do and claimed 2nd overall just in front of Simone Christense from Denmark. 58 ladies scored points. Here is how they ended up.
